สรุป  เนื้อหาสอบปลายภาค 1/2552 ระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3

          The final exam consists of 3 sections, Section A has 40 multiple choice questions, Section B are short answer questions worth 20 marks and lastly Section C are essay questions or computations worth a total of 40 marks.

          English - The English exam is based on the novel by Anne Frank ‘Diary of a Young Girl’ and Life Accents 6.1 through 7.1 The exam consists of 40 multiple choice questions, 8-10 short answer questions and the choice of different subjects for the essay questions.

          Mathematics - The students need to know the terms of Chapter 1-3. They will identify the parts of a circle. They will solve the area, circumference, radius and diameter of a circle. They will also differentiate and identify the different solids based on their properties. They need to understand the concept of the surface area and volume of a solid. They will use the different formulae in solving a problem. They will find the value of the missing parts of the solid    (e.g. height, area of base). They will calculate the volume and surface area of the composite solid. Analyze, understand and calculate the word problems about surface area and volume.

          Science - The science exam for grade 9 A-F includes Chapter four and five on the science textbook. Chapter four is all about Heredity and Traits. Students should remember all vocabulary including Punnett square. For chapter five which is Biodiversity students should remember the different classification of organism. How these organism are classified. Some important note in the notebook and hand-outs will also be included in the exam.

          Social Studies - The final exam is focused on the three chapters of the textbook. These are Introduction to World War I, Establishing peace and Russian history. The emphasis of the exam particularly in the multiple choice section is on Russian history. Students must remember the important dates, events and personalities of the war. They should learn by heart the map of Europe in pre-war period.
