Symphonic Band History
Sarasas Ektra Symphonic Band was organized in the year 2001 under the direction of Mr. Panu In-im.

The band started as a wind ensemble with only 16 members with the purpose to help in the school's activities and ceremonies. Later in the year 2006, Director Pisut Yongkamol supported the band's musical activities and performances with the objectives to develop not only the musical skills but teamwork, discipline, accountability, and responsibility of the students. The band encourages the students to make use of their time wisely and gives opportunities for the students to advance in music. The Director fully supported the band by providing more musical instruments and accepting more music teachers to teach instruments of the band.
In the year 2007, the band participated in the "9th Asian Symphonic Band Competition" held in Mahidol University, achieving the 5th prize, The result of the competition is as follows : First Prize, Do-Re-Mi-Do Symphonic Winds(Kasetsart University); Secon Prize, Attawit Commercial College; Third Prize, Assumption College Lampang Symphonic Band; Fourth Prize, Ratwinit Bangkaeo Wind Symphony; Firth Prize, Sarasas Ektra Symphonic Band
After evaluating the band's performance and areas to improve, the teachers took it as a challenge to move on. A unanimous decision was made to participate for the next compettion. A long range program was arranged for the students to spend more time for practice. One way was for the teachers and students to stay and sleep in school during holidays, school breaks and even after the opening of classes of the 2nd term of school year 2008. After all the preparations and sacrifices done, the band placed the Second Prize in the "10th Asian Symphonic Band Competition". Last year's competition was participated by 14 bands from Thailand and other Asian countries. The result of ther competition is as follows;
First Prize Suthiwararam Concert;
Second Prize, Sarasas Ektra Symphonic Band;
Third Prize, Bodindecha Symphonic Band;
Fourth Prize, Ratwinit Bangkaeo Wind Symphony;
Fifth Prize, Triamudom Suksa Wing Symphony;
This year the band is honored to be invited to join the "Beijing International Band Festival 2009" organized by the Beijing Band Director's Association in Beijing, China on the 16th - 22 of July 2009. This is the first time for the band to perform outside of Thailand. They are proud to represent Thailand and having to share and exchange the Thai culture and music among other countries.
